Being a luxury re-seller - behind the scenes of HHH with Amber
On the 15th of March 2021 I started my HHH journey. One month later, I’m sharing my experiences so far and giving you all a behind the scenes exclusive on what it’s like to work for HHH and the ins and outs of being a luxury reseller. It started with my interview, which was, of course, over zoom. This meant blouse on the top, tracksuit bottoms below. After the initial zoom call, I was invited to an in-person interview which meant I actually had to put trousers on this time! The interview was a success (must’ve been the trousers) and ever since then I’ve been a part of the team.
At work there is just the three of us, Roberta, Jemima and me. It’s been a laugh a minute so far. Every morning Jemima and I arrive at 9.30, ready for what Roberta has in store for us for the day. I’ve been loving my job so far because I never know what I’ll be doing until I arrive at work on the day. One day I’ll be helping put together the weekly newsletter or showcasing our products for our Instagram @highheelhierarchy, the next I’ll be making funny TikTok’s with Roberta or helping Jemima package up our items. The role even doubles up as part-time social media manager, part-time babysitter in the school holidays when Roberta’s children, Zara and Zach, are at home. So not only do we get to look at gorgeous bags and shoes all day long, we also get an exclusive magic show from Zach every so often.
When I first arrived, I was amazed by the amount of stock Roberta had and how much her and Jemima knew about the products. I knew I had some catching up to do but I’d like to think I’m getting there (slowly but surely). One of the hardest things so far has been seeing all the beautiful products and fantasising about owning them myself then having to see them shipped off to their new home. The temptation of buying a Gucci bag is getting all too real and I’m only one month in, should I be scared?
